SALVADOR OF BAHIA
Discovered on November 1, 1501 by the navigator Gaspar de Lemos accompanied by the cartographer Amérigo Vespucci (whose name will give: America) then built in 1549 at the entrance to the second largest bay in the world, Salvador de Bahia, “the black pearl of the Americas”, is the largest Baroque architectural ensemble in South America.Historical capital of Brazil, it is today the capital of the state of Bahia with approximately 3 million inhabitants.
